ICC CWC 2019: Want India to beat Pakistan for our Jawans, says Farokh Engineer

Debasis Sen, London: India is currently facing Australia in their second encounter of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Oval. Former Indian cricketer Farokh Engineer is present at the stadium to cheer the Men in Blue against the Aussies. While talking to www.xtratime.in he looked supremely confident about India’s win.

“We are going to win today. I am a positive person. You have to be either winner in a life or loser in life. I don’t think about losing,” said Engineer.

While asked about who would be his semifinalists in this World Cup, Farokh replied,”Australia is a very good team no doubt. To me, Semi finalist teams will be India, England, Australia and either New Zealand or West Indies.

Engineer took a dig at the ICC regarding MS Dhoni’s gloves controversy.” Rubbish controversy. I was  with MS at the high commissioner’s party. We had a discussion about it. Some idiots who had nothing better to do have made a mountain out of mole hills. There was no reason at all. If MS feels comfortable wearing the gloves why shouldn’t he wear,” added Engineer.

On being asked about Indo-Pak rivalry, Engineer said,”India vs Pakistan is not just a game it’s much more than that. I know some Indians who just want to beat Pakistan rather than winning the World Cup but that should not be the attitude. I want India to play against Pakistan and beat them for the jawans and that will give me the pleasure.”
