ICC CWC 2019: This Bollywood actor questions Rishabh Pant’s omission from India’s cup squad

XtraTime Web Desk: Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor is the latest to join the debate why Rishabh Pant is not picked in India’s fifteen member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup which starts later this month in England and Wales. The actor took to the twitter in seeking an answer from Team India captain and coach Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri as why Pant is not in the World Cup squad.

He tweetd, “Why is Rishabh Pant not in the squad for the World Cup? You there? @RaviShastriOfc @imVkohli,”
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik was preferred over the young Risabh who has been going through a phenomenal run in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019. The talented wicket-keeper batsman played a whirlwind 49(21) to set the platform for a two wickets win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator played at Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Pant has scored 450 runs from 15 matches at a strike rate of 163.63. He scored three fifties with a highest score of 78* against Rajasthan Royals. Karthik on the other hand has had a dismal outing in the cash rich league this season. The KKR captain has scored 253 runs from 14 matches at a strike rate of 146.24. The Tamil Nadu batsman had a highest score of 97* against Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has been named among the reserves for the World Cup.
