ICC CWC 2019: Kohli breaks the record of Mohammed Azharuddin. Find how?

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli continued his brilliant batting in the ongoing World Cup as he scored another half century in the match against West Indies at Old Trafford on Thursday.Scoring his 53rd One Day Internationals half-century, Kohli became the only Indian captain to bag four fifties at the grandest stages of them all.

Kohli’s sensational 72 off 55 balls followed by MS Dhoni’s patient knock laid the foundation for India to set a remarkable 268-run target for Jason Holder and Co. in Manchester. King Kohli also became the fastest to cross the 20,000 run mark in the same innings, surpassing Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and former West Indies great Brian Lara.

Thanks to another busy outing in the office, Kohli surpassed former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin’s record of scoring back to back three fifties. With the historic feat, Kohli has now become the only Indian captain to register four consecutive half-centuries in a quadrennial event.
