XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team is in huge controversy as they violated ICC’s rule by not sending any cricketer at the mixed session after Virat Kohli’s men lost their first warm-up game by 6 wickets. ICC has started open media session for cricket to grow more as they think if the players talk more then it will help cricket to spread all over the world. For that reason they have build a whole set inside the press-conference room which is called ‘Mixed Zone’. As per rules four cricketers should come here and talk with the media persons for 15 minutes or so. For that New Zealand brought Ross Taylor, Trent Boult & Colin Munro. But despite of a lot request India didn’t send any players. In the football World Cup ‘mixed zone’ is very familiar where footballers must need to visit while leaving the stadium. But the question is after India’s disapproval will ICC’s this initiative get a success? The Indian team management showed that they don’t bother about the ICC. They told straight no to ICC on their own event. ICC’s spokesperson brought the media persons at the ‘mixed zone’ by telling them that Indian players would talk to them regarding the match. Though after some time they told that the players didn’t want to come but as per rule they have told the team management it’s a protocol that must be followed. Surprisingly despite of all this the players didn’t come and the ICC had to give a brief that it was unfortunate and they will see these kinds of things don’t happen again. On being asked about the matter, Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri said, ”I don’t know anything regarding open media session and the team did send Ravindra Jadeja for the press-conference. But I don’t have any knowledge regarding this open media session.”
