Kolkata: Willis Deon Plaza, the Trinidad & Tobago international has suddenly become the new heart-throb of the Kingfisher East Bengal FC fans as the Caribbean forward has been in lethal form of late and scored two brilliant goals against Mumbai FC in the last Hero I-League game at the Barasat Stadium on Wednesday.

Today, after the training session, the forward seemed very much in mood in a friendly interaction with the media. From Shah Rukh Khan to Kolkata derby, Plaza seemed as comfortable as his playing style.

Here goes the Conversation:

Q: You will play Chennai City FC tomorrow. Are you confident of scoring again?

Plaza: I don’t know. Only God knows. I’m trying to know the players, the teams every day and trying to improve every time.

Q: Do you have any idea about the famous Kolkata Derby

Plaza: The last time when my country mate Cornell Glen scored in the Kolkata derby, our football Federation uploaded the clip on YouTube. I have seen the excitement there.

Q: Whom do you want to dedicate, if you score in the Kolkata derby

Plaza: I want to dedicate Stephen Abarowei. In fact, all the goals which I’m scoring are being dedicated to Stephen.

Q: Will there be any “Shah Rukh Khan celebration” in the Kolkata derby?

Plaza: Well, Shah Rukh is not like Salman Khan. Shah Rukh does his job silently. He doesn’t like to expose too much. He acts smoothly till the end. I want to do the same as well against Mohun Bagan. No special celebration, I just want to do my work.

Q: How is the derby atmosphere in your country?

Plaza: I’m the king there.

Q: You remind more of the former East Bengal foreigner Yusuf Yakubu. Do you know him?

Plaza: I don’t know him. So I can’t comment.

Q: Are you having any difficulty in adjusting to the Indian condition?

Plaza: Trinidad’s one-third popularity are Indians. Thus I’m well aware of the food habits, atmosphere. Though I go to bed early and regularly get up at 3:30 am in the morning.

Q: The sweets here in Kolkata are famous. Have you tasted it?

Plaza: Yes I heard but yet to taste it.

Q: Have you ever been any of the tourist spots in Kolkata?

Plaza: Yes, I was there at the Alipore Zoo, but only for 10 minutes. (Smiles)
