I League : Bengaluru FC Not Unbeatable : Sanjay Sen

Internet Desk: Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen did not want to read too much into his sides draw in the I League match against Mumbai FC at the Cooperage on Wednesday. The Mariners are placed at No 3 in the League table with 11 points from 5 matches. The Green and Maroon footballers looked to play a safe game against its opponents yesterday. Bagan coach Sanjay Sen feel, “ Even teams like Barcelona ,Manchester United lose points. So nothing to be concerned about. We take it as a bad day at the office. I take lot of positives from the match .”

The defending champions are yet to lose a match in the I League. Bagan’s next opponent in the I League ,  Bengaluru FC have already lost two points . The gaffer see it as a positive not to lose any matches so far .

“The best part for us is we did not concede a goal in the last two I-league matches. According to me, Mumbai FC match is a closed chapter. Now my focus is on Bengaluru FC match.”

Ashley Westwood’s side will be high on confidence after it’s 4-1 mauling against DSK Shivajians . The Blues will be a mighty opponent at their own citadel. Bagan coach Sanjay Sen sound confident ahead of facing Westwood and his side,” We are not at all scared of Bengaluru FC. We will go for a win. Remember last season we drew with Mumbai FC but still went on to be the champions. We drew with a side which had beaten Bengaluru FC 2-0. ”

Bagan coach also draw confidence from the fact that Bengaluru FC have conceded 6 goals so far in the I League. On being asked about the defensive pair of Curtis Osano and John Johnson , the gaffer replied ,“I have discussed with my players how to deal with Curtis and John. Sony Norde and Cornell Glen will have the experience behind them to get the better of them.”

Sanjoy did accept his team played poorly against Mumbai FC . He claimed to have spoken to the boys after the match and they have promised to give their best in the next match.

Meanwhile, the Bagan coach has already given his opinion to the officials about his show cause notice by the AIFF . The Bagan coach will have 48 hours to decide on the strategy to topple the Blues and put a strong footing on the championship.
