Red and Gold Bridge played with five defenders in this all important away match.  Their star Trinidad & Tobago forward Willis Deon Plaza came very late in the pitch during the 82nd minute of the game. It was not very entertaining match as so many yellow cards were shown to both the sides. Though in 33rd minute Laldanmawia Ralte’s cross went to Jobby Justin but his header was saved by Aizawl FC goalkeeper Avilash Paul. In the 25th minute Katsumi Yusa’s free kick hit the bar. The home side also got some great chances as Alfred Jaryan shot saved by Luis Barreto in the first-half. In the 43rd minute of the game Dodoz's shot went over the bar. Probably, Avilash made his best save when East Bengal’s Laldanmawia got a pass from Al Amna and took a in swinging shot which was saved by him. Katsumi received booking for a reckless challenge to Dodoz. Laldanmawia also got a yellow card for challenging Avilash in the box. Avilash got Hero of the Match award for his brilliant saves. Aizawl skipper Alfred also received yellow for arguing with referee. It was a must win match for Khalid Jamil boys as far as I-League is concern. In the next match they will face their arch rival Mohun Bagan on Sunday at Yuva Bharati Krikangan for the Kolkata derby. The midfield will be Khalid’s concern before the big derby.
