With this win the Red and Gold Brigade has reached the third spot in the League table with 23 points in 13 matches. Without a win from last four games, the Red & Gold were almost out of contension of the I-League. They got a lot of chances in the 90 minutes of the game but failed to convert it. But veteran striker’s 93rd minute goal gave them another life in the league. East Bengal, who won by a 2-0 margin in the first leg in New Delhi, will next face second-placed Minerva Punjab in an crucial away fixture on February 13.
