It was Mohun Bagan who drew first blood in the 18th minute. Norde floated in a teasing corner inside the six-yard box and Shilton D’Silva nodded the ball home.

Though Gokulam equalized immediately with two minutes. Thanks to a terrible piece of defending by Lalchhawnkima. Bijesh floated in a cross from the right and Kima’s clearance nestled into his own net.

Gokulam took the lead in the 24th minute when Marcus Joseph scored a fantastic goal by hoodwinking Shilton Paul. Marcus scored in his third consecutive match. Suhair passed it to Marcus and the Trinidadian lobbed it over Shilton Paul.

Bagan saved their day in the 60th minute to bring some relief for Khaild Jamil and the 145 people who came to watch the game as Dipanda finally converted after an ‘exhibition’ of misses. Kisekka set him up with a lobbed ball from the edge of the box and the striker headed it home.

Eventually, it happened to be a crucial point for Gokulam, who are still fighting in the relegation zone.
