Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge relief to the Indian team management, wicket keeper Rishabh Pant has struck form at the right moment. Pant scored a splendid half century for Leicestershire on Day 2 of the warm up game against India at Uptonsteel County Ground on Friday. Pant, who was under fire for his poor form in recent T20 series against South Africa at home, smashed 76 runs off 87 balls. He literally toyed with the Indian bowling.

Coming in to bat at 5 for Leicestershire, Pant stitched valuable partnerships with Joey Evison and Rishi Patel as the home side bounced back after being reduced to 71/4.

Pant took his time initially, but then stepped on the accelerator, reaching his fifty in just 73 balls with a six. The Indian wicketkeeper smashed 14 fours and a six before perishing to Ravindra Jadeja.

The fifth test between India and England will be played at Edgbaston ground starting July 1.
