Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes a huge concern for the Indian cricket team, captain Rohit Sharma got injured during the optional practice session at the Oval on Tuesday, June 06. Rohit was hit on his left thumb while he was taking throw downs in the nets ahead of the WTC final against Australia, which begins at The Oval on Wednesday, June 7.

Rohit came out of the nets and was immediately attended by Kamlesh Jain, the Indian team Physio. Kamlesh taped his left thumb and ten minutes later, Rohit put on his gloves to go back into the nets before deciding against it.

He then left the ground after a brief chat with the head coach Rahul Dravid. Rohit not batting seemed like a precautionary measure. India will need its captain and opener in the WTC final starting tomorrow and all Indian fans will be hoping that we will see Rohit walking out at the toss tomorrow at the Oval.
