Hero Super Cup: East Bengal beat Mumbai City FC and through to the quarter-finals

XtraTime Web Desk: Kingfisher East Bengal dominated to win against Mumbai City FC in their inaugural encounter of the Hero Super Cup. The Red and Gold snatched 2-1 victory despite conceding a goal in 22 nd minute.

Mumbai City FC got the lead in the 22 nd minute as Achille Emana’s stunning free-kick hit the inside of the post and went into the back of the net.  Katsumi equalised in the 26 th minute with a fantastic header as Ralte gave a pin point cross from the right flank. First half ended with a draw.

In the second half East Bengal looked more positive as Syrian midfielder Mehmood Al Amna controlled the game very well. Mahmoud Al- Amna gave East Bengal the all important lead as he got a rebounded ball and powered a shot to the goal. Amna got the hero of the match award.

Apart from Amna Eduardo Ferreira, Katsumi Yusa played well but, in attacking position Dudu Omagbemi  disappointed the fans as he missed some chances to score.

Many East Bengal fans traveled to Bhubaneswar to watch the match. Al Amna, thanked them for the support in the prize distribution ceremony. The Red and Gold will face Awizal FC in the Quater Final on Sunday.
