Here are 3 footballing rules which could be applied into the game of Cricket

Xtra Time Web Desk : The game of football has undoubtedly been the biggest sport in the world, with highest amount of viewership and exposure to it’s name. But there have been certain reasons for which, the sport have had maintained over the years.

Cricket on the other hand has been no less than a religion in India, but there are certain aspects of it which can be improved, if the question of increasing the popularity of the game globally comes to mind.

So here are 3 rules from football which could be implemented into the gentlemen’s game to improve it’s quality and viewership to an even higher extent :

Yellow and Red card rule : In the past, we have seen many a fights and unexpected incidents or fights which could have been avoided if the card rule was eligible in the game of cricket. In football, this keeps players away from involving in any untoward incident.

Substitution rule : Although there are provisions for concussion substitutes in cricket, but the regular sub rule could be implemented into the gentlemen’s game to make the crunch moments in the game even more crunchier. Sometimes, the substitutes can in fact turn the game on it’s head for the side which isn’t having the advantage, just like how it happens in football.

Simultaneous last league matches at the same time : This rule could prove to be a game changer in the longer tournaments like the Indian Premier League and could increase the excitement even more like the Premier League.

Also, the simultaneous fixtures helps to cut off that extra advantage which applies for franchises when they know about the clear cut results that they need to get in order to go into the next round.
