Xtra Time Web Desk: Has Sony won the IPL Media Rights for the next five years? According to unconfirmed sources Sony has piped Disney Star, Zee and Viacom 18/Reliance to get the TV rights. But there is no official confirmation from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) yet. It is learnt Sony has won the bid for 57.5 crore. It is also learnt that Package A winner has decided to challenge Package B Winner for Digital Rights and auction will resume at 2pm IST.
Package A is sold at 23,575 Cr (57.5 Cr Per Match) while Package B for Digital Rights in India is sold at 19,680 Crore (48 Cr Per Match)
So, the big question is who has won Package A and Package B? According to unconfirmed sources Sony has won the Broadcast Rights for the Indian Sub-Continent – But no official word so far or from the Indian cricket board.
