The Mumbai City FC marquee was suspended for semi-final second leg at home after he picked up a red card for a clumsy challenge against Jewel Raja. "We have a situation. But our team has played without him at the start and we fared well. We have to play these kind of games with different stamina. It was a lesson for whole team today. A player in his position is waiting for his time and hope he can do well," Alexandre Guimaraes told at the post match conference in Kolkata. Mumbai City FC will take solace from the fact that they were able to pump in two away goals in their 2-3 loss against the hosts. "I can only say that after the game," Guimaraes replied to a question on whether Forlan will be missed in Tuesday's game. "I am very sure we have the depth in our offensive bench to replace him. And I am sure that we can manage." Guimaraes counterpart Jose Molina added salt to injury by saying Forlan was frustrated causing him to foul Jewel Raja in the second half. "I am always confident in my team. Of course we are one goal ahead and their marquee player will not play. "One thing is clear about this is Forlan was sent off because he was frustrated that he could do nothing here," Molina stated. Talking about the unusual first half, Gimaraes added, “Nobody expected that five goals will be scored inside the first 45 minutes in a semi-final. But then that’s football and anything can happen. The important thing is we understood how we have to play this kind of game. We have to reduce errors as much as possible in the next leg. For both sides profited from the errors early on in the match.” Mumbai City FC missed midfielder Matias Defederico in the match tonight after he felt cramp in his muscle. The Argentinean came in as a substitute in the second half. Guimaraes hoped he gets well soon for the all important second leg coming up on Tuesday. “After the practice yesterday he felt a little tightness in the muscle. Our medical team did the best they could for him to see him on the field from the start but unfortunately he was not fit enough to play for 90 minutes.” Lastly talking about Sunil Chhetri’s off-form, Gumaraes said, “Maybe on Tuesday he will bury the chances. For scorers like that you never know. I am sure he will make it. He has a strong character. He came here to win and he knows that on Tuesday it is the last chance to go through. So I am totally sure that he will try to do his best.”
