Ground And Pitch Covers Reach Eden Gardens, Scoreboard To Unveil On 27th Feb

Kolkata: As we had seen on October 2nd the T20I match between India and South Africa which was washed out due to a little bit of rain in the morning for just half an hour and CAB immediately planned to re-innovate the ground and bring in new ground covers which almost covers up the ground during heavy showers. On Wednesday, ground cover was unveiled at the Eden in presence of CAB President and Curator Sujan Mukherjee. As it rained a bit in the morning in Kolkata the outfield got wet. Ganguly and Sujan Mukherjee reached Eden early morning and had an inspection on the ground. The ground cover is a 13 ft. long which is almost covering the ground. The pitch cover brought From England did not destroy the pitch at all due to the showers. The groundsmen who came from England to give display to the groundsmen of Eden had a session and it will go on for the next 4 days. Sourav Ganguly seemed to be very happy with the progress of the work. Curator Sujan Mukherjee also looked satisfied with the ground conditions.

On the otherhand, CAB’s electronic scoreboard is set to arrive by 26th or 27th February which is at Bengaluru right now.

Meanwhile, CAB is planning for a 8 team Super 8 tournament after the conclusion of P.Sen Trophy with CAB top clubs like Kalighat, Bhawanipur, Mohun Bagan,Town Club etc.
