Internet Desk: A goal each from Adil Khan and Felix Odili Chidi took Dempo SC back to 2nd position in the Goa Professional League. Dempo registered a thrilling 2-1 win over arch-rivals Salgaocar FC at Duler Ground, Mapusa on Sunday.

Dempo took the lead in the 44th minute through a superb strike from back volley by Adil Khan. Both teams went into the breather with the scoreboard reading 1-0 in favour of Dempo.

Dempo stretched the lead through a brilliant solo effort from Felix Odili Chidhi. The Nigerian striker after receiving a pass from the central line outran and dribbled past Salgaocar FC defence and shot home past Salgoacar goalkeeper.

Salgoacar FC did manage to reduce the margin. Nepalese international Naro Hari converted from a spot kick. But it was Naro Hari who turned out to be the villain for his side as he missed a golden opportunity to equalize from a spot kick in the 81st minute. Dempo goalkeeper Priyant Kumar Singh made a brilliant save.

Dempo SC are scheduled to play their next match versus Santa Cruz Club Cavelossim on October 22 at Duler Ground, Mapusa.
