Internet Desk: Langsning held out Malki for a 1-0 victory in the Gionee Shillong Premier League, here at J N Sports Complex, Polo. In an engaging first half Langsning dominated the possession, their performance was full of intensity and vigour, however they could not make any breakthrough in the opening two quarters despite ample chances, for Malki’s defenders were successful in anticipating the threat. Just before Langsning could regret for the missed opportunity, on the 40th minute Bickyson Kharkongor produced a superlative moment, striking the ball into the nets from outside the 18 yard box, giving his team the lead. When the second half unfolded, Malki’s frustration grew, their side pressed hard for a leveller, but it came to nothing. They failed to find the rhythm or fluency and were wasteful infront of the goal, most of their shot were off target. Langsning continued to attack and at the same time kept their defensive structure firm. They could not extend their lead and the lone goal catapulted by Bicky separated the two sides till the end of the stoppage time. Malki had only themselves to blame for trailing, their sluggish defense in the final five minutes of the opening half saw them losing the match. Langsning now moves up to second spot with 19 points from 10 matches. Tomorrow’s clash will be between Nangkiew Irat SC and Rangdajied United FC
