Former Sri Lankan bowler Nuwan Zoysa found guilty of Corruption by ICC

XtraTime Web Desk – Nuwan Zoysa, the former fast bowler from the Sri Lankan camp has been found gulity of violating ICC’s corruption code.

Zoysa was charged in the T10 League in 2017 at United Arab Emirates. Nuwan Zoysa was then the bowling coach of the Sri Lankan national team.

On Thursday, ICC confirmed that Zoysa has been found guilty by an independent tribunal on three charges.

Zoysa has been found guilty of – 1. fixing or contrive or influence improperly the result, progress, conduct of a match. 2. Directly or indirectly soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging or intentionally facilitating any participant to act corruptly. 3. Failing to disclose to the anti-corruption unit full details of any approaches or invitations to engage in corrupt conduct.

Zoysa has now been suspended by ICC until further notice. ICC also announced that they will announce sanctions on a later date.

Zoysa has represented Sri Lanka for over 10 years till 2007. The 42 years old has played 30 tests and 95 ODI’s for his country.
