XtraTime Web Desk: A former Assam footballer was among the two casualties at the fire that broke out at the Baghjan production well of Oil India Limited in Tinsukia. Durlov Gogoi, who represented Assam in the Santosh Trophy died while controlling the fire. He played for the state team during last decade.

The bodies of two fire fighters of Oil India Limited (OIL) were recovered on Wednesday from the Baghjan production well site by the SDRF-NDRF team.
Indian Super League (ISL) franchise North East United FC tweeted about the sad demise of Gogoi. The franchise from North East tweeted, “Former Assam State Team Goalkeeper Durlov Gogoi, passed away trying to contain the situation on ground. The ex-footballer served as a firefighter for Oil India Ltd. May his soul rest in peace and his family find the strength to deal with the incredible loss.”

The two fire fighters of OIL were missing since Tuesday after a massive fire that broke out at the Baghjan production well of Oil India Limited in upper Assam’s Tinsukia. After the fire broke out at the production well of Baghjan 5, fire tenders of OIL were pressed into service to douse the inferno.
