Kolkata has rolled out a grand welcome for five-time FIFA World Cup champions Brazil, with the star-studded squad arriving in the city ahead of their much-anticipated international friendly against India on October 3 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

Although access to the airport was restricted due to security arrangements, a number of passionate supporters gathered outside, carrying Brazil flags and wearing the famous yellow jerseys in the hope of catching a glimpse of their footballing idols.
The Brazilian team was escorted under tight security from the airport and reached their hotel at around 9:34 PM. Their journey through Kolkata in a specially arranged green-and-yellow team bus, featuring the iconic Brazil crest, added to the excitement surrounding the October 3 encounter.
The reception at the hotel was equally enthusiastic, with a large crowd of fans gathering outside to welcome the Brazilian stars. Security personnel ensured that the players could enter the hotel safely, while supporters maintained a respectful distance and continued to cheer for the team.
The warm Kolkata welcome appeared to make an impression on the Brazilian contingent. Several players were seen smiling and acknowledging the fans, with some even giving thumbs-up gestures as they entered the hotel.
Brazil’s arrival has now taken the excitement surrounding the India-Brazil friendly to another level. With Ancelotti and some of world football’s biggest young stars in the city, anticipation is building rapidly.
As the countdown to October 3 continues, Kolkata is preparing for a historic footballing spectacle—one that will see the five-time world champions take on India under the floodlights at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
