Xtra Time Web Desk : Legendary former India footballer and coach Subhas Bhowmick passed away on Saturday at the age of 72 as a result of prolonged illness.

The former India mid-fielder, who was part of the 1970 Asian Games bronze medal-winning member, was suffering from kidney and diabetes related ailments for a long time and breathed his last around 3.30 am.

Earlier this morning, former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia posted a message saying, “Subash Bhomick and I share some wonderful memories. Winning the Asian Cup and then I league and many more tournaments. He was a very vocal man and that led to many arguments and controversies. But I loved the man for that. He always spoke what he felt in his heart. Will miss you a lot Bhombal Da. Rest in Peace.”
