Xtra Time Web Desk: Ahead of the much-anticipated final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 between India and Australia, there is a lot of interest on the wicket. The wicket here at the Narendra Modi Stadium is made of black soil. It looks like it will be another slow wicket for the final.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Head Coach Rahul Dravid were seen having an inspection of the wicket immediately after arriving at the stadium for practice session. Soon after, both Rohit and Dravid were seen having a chat with BCCI Head Curator Ashish Bhowmik and Taposh Chatterjee, who is also a member of BCCI pitches and grounds committee.

After a few minutes, the other members of the support staff including batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey also joined the discussion. Rohit was seen quite animated during the discussion trying to make a point.

The groundsmen here at the Narendra Modi Stadium were seen bringing a heavy roller. Moments later the wicket was rolled with the heavy roller. It is assumed that the wicket will be flat and good for batting. Towards the second half it might offer help for slower bowlers.

The match between India and Pakistan was a low scoring one with Pakistan being bowled out for 191 runs. With another day to go before the final on Sunday, more drama is expected on the wicket.
