Kolkata: The FIFA U17 World Cup 2017 saw England being emerged as the champions of the World after they spectacularly defeated Spain. After trailing 0-2 they went on to turn the tide in their favour to inflict a scintillating 5-2 victory over the Spanish Armada. The England team coach Steve Cooper was visually happy with the team’s performance and said it was a very nice feeling. The post match events were also good as per Cooper where the entire team bundled up and enjoyed each other’s company.

“A lot of players and close ones have wished and congratulated us on our victory, especially on social media. It has been a great achievement and no one gets carried away we need to be concerned about it, but when things like that happen you enjoy it” said Cooper.

On being questioned about whether they have received any appreciation from international coaches Cooper said, “Yes Gareth Southgate has congratulated us. We have received appreciation from all parts of the globe. It also is a recognition for all the good work that has been going on especially in the England academies and the FA.”

“Stephen Constantine has been in touch with me throughout the time. he has congratulated and sent his wishes both before and after the game. We also very pleased about his work as an English coach doing well abroad.

“We have loved India, Goa, Mumbai, Kolkata these cities have been terrific and every moment here has been an experience of a lifetime. We are highly grateful to the people here and the huge number of fans that has turned up here and it’s something we will never forget.
