Kolkata: The Bengal cricket team would face Gujarat in the semi finals of the Ranji Trophy Tournament which is scheduled to kick start from December 7 and as a result the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) today has declared it’s players.

Former India skipper and CAB President Sourav Ganguly would be joining the team on December 6 to boost the squad ahead of the quarter finals.

“This is the first time since 2015 that Bengal has qualified for the knockout stage of the Ranji Trophy so I am travelling to Jaipur to support the team” said Ganguly.

Star pacer Ishan Porel couldn’t play in the previous game owing to the upcoming U19 World Cup 2018, however Porel has been featured in the team despite the fact that Porel played in the Challenger Trophy whose sole aim was to select players for the U19 team.

The team for the U19 would be selected on December 3 after which a camp is scheduled to be held.
“We are hopeful that BCCI would coordinate with us as Ishan is a key player of the team” Ganguly added.

If Ishan is unavailable to face Gujarat which is led by Parthiv Patel at the Sawai Man Singh stadium, then Sayan Ghosh will take the place of Porel.
