Internet Desk: The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has highly praised the nation particularly in the field of Sports this month when he addressed the country in ‘Mann ki Baat’. Modi has highly lauded the Indian team’s hockey performance in the Asia Cup which India won after a long span of 10 years along with that ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth’s performance in the Denmark Open Superseries.

PM Modi also claimed that the recently concluded FIFA Under-17 World Cup and said that the event was a huge success. “Young Indian players won hearts of fans during the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. Future of football is bright in India,” said Modi and added, “After 10 years India won Asia Cup. I congratulate entire team and the support staff and in badminton Kidambi Srikanth won.”

Srikanth who has three titles this year will be aiming for the fourth on sunday evening and on the other hand the men’s hockey team put up a splendid performance after they won the Asia Cup in Dhaka after a decade.

As for the FIFA U17 World Cup is concerned, the FIFA President Gianni Infantino termed it as a “resounding success” and to top that India also topped the charts and created a record in registering a world record attendance in the World Cup.

Despite the fact that India were eliminated in the group stage but Manipuri teenager Jeakson Singh became the only Indian to find the back of the net in this World Cup. With a wonderful header against Columbia, Jeakson’s strike made every Indian jump up.

And as for the cricket team is concerned, the Men in Blue are on a mission to defeat New Zealand after recently thrashing Australia.
