Xtra Time Web Desk: It was a huge disappointment for Ukraine who lost to Wales by a solitary goal in the FIFA World Cup Play Off Final 2022 on Sunday night at Cardiff. Gareth Bale and his side have now sealed a spot in Qatar 2022. Wales have qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years.

Wales will now join England, Iran and USA in Group B. Andriy Yarmolenko’s own goal ensured a 1-0 win for Wales.

Wales goalkeeper Hennessey was outstanding under the bars as he made quite a few saved. Eventually the deadlock was broken when Yarmolenko headed Bale’s goal-bound free-kick past Georgi Bushchan for an own goal.

Ukraine marked their first competitive match back after Russia’s invasion with a 3-1 play-off semi-final win over Scotland on Wednesday to tee up the winner-takes-all decider in Cardiff.
