FC Goa moves closer to the semifinal berth, beat Odisha FC 3-1

XtraTime Web Desk – With an important win against Odisha FC, FC Goa moves an inch closer to the semi final berth.

Goa were the clear favourites going into the game and they showed their intent right from the start. In the 4th minute mark, Noguera got a fantastic chance to put Goa ahead but Arshdeep Singh brilliantly stopped and kept Odisha into the game.

Goa finally scored the goal in the 18th minute and it was Alberto Noguera scored the goal. FC Goa went 2-0 when Jorge Ortiz scored for them in the 26th minute. Odisha was down but wasn’t definetly out.

Even after conceding two, Odisha FC wasn’t out of the competition. Just couple of minutes after conceding their second, Odisha FC’s attack was brilliantly denied by Dheeraj Singh and kept the 2-0 lead intact.

Not for long though. Diego Mauricio scored in the 30th minute to bring Odisha back into the game and the goal boosted their confidence going into the rest of the game.

Odisha FC was right there in the game creating some good chances throughout. However, it was Goa who again scored and sealed the deal. Ivan Gonzalez scored in the 75th minute to put Goa 3-1 up over Odisha.

Odisha came close on few occasions but so did Goa. The match ended 3-1 in favour of FC Goa as they now have 27 points from 18 games and are sitting 4th in the table while Odisha remained in the 11th spot with 9 points from 18 games.
