Fascinating end to a classic thriller between Mumbai City FC and FC Goa

XtraTime Web Desk – A classic nail biting finish saw Mumbai City FC and FC Goa share a point after 90 minutes.

From the first whistle, the match was match was evenly poised. Both the teams played attacking football and the defence had a tough job in hand. Hugo Boumous got a good chance to score in the 7th minute of the match but his shot was beautifully saved by the youngster Dheeraj Singh.

Mumbai however found the opening in the 20th minute of the match. Adam Le Fondre assisted Hugo as the midfielder converted to give the Islanders the important lead. Six minutes later, Adam Le Fondre put Mumbai 2-0 ahead and Mumbai looked in total control of the match.

FC Goa then tried to comes into the match as Seriton missed a good chance in the 34th minute. They however scored in the 45th minute as the new comer Glen Martins scored a screamer from outside the box as the first half ended 2-1 in favour of the Islanders.

Igor Angulo put FC Goa into the level terms in the 51st minute after Mumbai City FC defenders were caught off guard. They tried an offside trap on Angulo but failed to keep him under control and FC Goa were level.

Jorge tried to put FC Goa ahead for the first time but his shot went over the bar. Post that, Rowliin Borges got a great chance to put Mumbai City ahead but his powerful shot went just above the bar.

Rowliin however put Mumbai ahead in the 90th minute from a tap-in. That’s not that. Ishan Pandita scored in the 96th minute to put Goa into level terms once again and it was indeed a thrilling end to close the contest.

Mumbai remained at the top with 34 points from 16 games while FC Goa are at 3rd with 23 points from 16 games.
