Sabyasachi Bagchi, Kolkata: Mohun Bagan has announced their new no.10 as Haitian talisman Sony Norde becomes the new owner of that jersey. Sony, who has been a fan heart-throb iin the last few seasons, ignored all the lucrative offers from the ISL clubs this season and showed great loyalty for the Mariners to sign for them. Hours after the official announcement by the Bagan officials, Sony Norde spoke exclusively with www.xtratime.in correspondent Sabyasachi Bagchi to share his feelings. He also stated that he wants to be the next Barreto of the Green and Maroon brigade Here goes the excerpts:
XT: What is your feeling about getting the next no.10 of Mohun Bagan?
Norde: Well, it was me who asked the no.10 shirt from the officials. Ther reason is that I want to become the next Jose Barreto of Mohun Bagam. I want to take the same responsibility which he used to shoulder over the years.
XT: How tough will it be to fill in the shoes of the great Brazilian?
Norde: It will be tough to match the great Barreto. I just want to do the same thing which Barreto used to do over the years for the fans. I will make it happen.
XT: You had offers from several ISL clubs. What inspired you to sign for Mohun Bagan again?
Norde: For the fans, the team, the officials, the coaching team and of course for the reason that I have some unfinished business here. I want to win more trophies with the club.
