Xtra Time Web Desk: A second half header from Kieffer Moore helped Wales salvage a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in EURO 2020 Group A clash at the Baku National Stadium on Saturday. The Cardiff City forward headed off a cross from Joe Morrell in the 74th minute to score the equalizer.

It was the Swiss who took the lead from a set piece in the 49th minute. Breel Embolo nodded home from Xherdan Shaqiri’s corner. Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer was brilliant under the bar as he saved a couple of clear chances for Wales to score, especially the one in the first half when he made an acrobatic save to stop Moore from giving Wales the lead.

There was late drama in Azerbaijan too as VAR ruled out Mario Gavranovic’s late strike for offside, mere seconds after the forward had come on as a substitute.

Switzerland pushed for a winner in the final minutes, but Wales held out for what could be an important point in Group A, which is topped by Italy after their 3-0 victory against Turkey on Friday evening.
