Kolkata: The return leg of the AFC Cup will be played on Tuesday, the present form is also showing the milky ways of winning another I-League title as the Green & Maroon brigade is now the only team who are unbeaten in the competition and sitting right on top of the points table with the maximum number points alongside arch rivals Kingfisher East Bengal. Today, Mohun Bagan President Swapan Sadhan Bose (Tutu), came to meet the footballers and coaching staff during the training to encourage them to clinch another Hero I-League title.

The Bagan President appealed to his players, “We need to win the I-League this season as well.”, keeping the Head coach Sanjoy Sen by his side. He spoke with the players individually and had words of encouragements for all the players. The President specially appreciated the performances of Darryl Duffy for his workload from box to box, praised Balwant Singh for his acrobatic goal in the previous game in the I-League against DSK and Debjit Majumder for his consistent performances between the sticks. He also told Debjit, “The national team hed coach might not call you up for playing for the country, but always remember that you are playing for Mohun Bagan and that itself is a huge honour. All the fans love to see you playing for us.”

Later, when the President spoke to the media, he said,”I feel I should die to see such poor turnout there at the Rabindra Sarobar. If East Bengal would have played there, they would have had a better turnout for sure. It’s really frustrating.”

Good news for Sanjoy Sen’s team, as Sony Norde had a full training session today after the injury concerns and seemed to be in no discomfort while training. The Green and Maroon gaffer said, “Sony had a full training session today and he didn’t have much pain. As I said, I will use him carefully and not in every game to get his usual rhythm.”

Today, it is birthday of Bagan midfielder Pronay Halder and the players celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake in the dressing room after the training.
