Kolkata: Khalid Jamil’s East Bengal will face Peerless in their third match of Calcutta Football League 2017 on Saturday. The defending Champions have started their title defence in style as they won their first two matches against Rainbow FC and Customs. All the players of the first XI who were the part of side against Customs were given rest by the coach. They only did their gym session today. Only the players from the reserve bench took part in today’s practice session.

Cavin Lobo and East Bengal’s new rising superstar Suher VP did their physical training in front of the watchful eyes of the team’s physical trainer Garcia. Suher scored a brace in the first match against Rainbow to show his class.

The Red & Gold Brigade’s star striker Willis Plaza hasn’t scored in the first two matches this season. Plaza started really well in the last season of the I-League but failed to carry his momentum till the end and East Bengal finished the League at number 3. Though East Bengal gaffer has full of trust on Plaza as he thinks he is a big match player and he would definitely do well in next matches. Now it has to be seen that for how long the team management will wait for Plaza to return to his form.
