East Bengal club has cleared all dues of Costa Rican World Cupper Jhonny Acosta on Friday.

Xtra Time Web Desk: East Bengal club on Friday cleared all dues of Costa Rican World Cupper Jhonny Acosta. The news was confirmed by senior club official Debabrata Sarkar to Xtra Time Bangla. With the payment of all dues to Acosta, the Kolkata based club can expect FIFA to lift the transfer ban imposed on them.

Acosta had dues worth Rs 10 lakh pending from East Bengal club’s erstwhile investors Quess Corp. The footballer went to FIFA in order to get his unpaid salary settled. FIFA player’s status committee after going through Acosta’s complain,  sent a letter to East Bengal dated June 7 stating that the club was banned from registering any new players in the upcoming transfer window which began from June 9.

East Bengal club officials by clearing all dues of Jhonny Acosta made it clear they are not going to rely on their current investors Shree Cement with whom they are at loggerheads for last one month about signing the final agreement.
