Internet Desk: Indian women sprinter Dutee Chand has finally made the cut for the forthcoming Rio Olympics. Dutee clocked 11.30 seconds which is also a National Record in the 100m sprint event in Kazakhstan on Saturday.

It comes as a huge sigh of relief for the sprinter from Orissa who had earlier missed the Olympics qualifying score by 0.01 seconds at 100 m event of Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championship-2016 held in New Delhi in April this year.

Dutee is currently the fastest women sprinter of the country. She clocked 11.33 seconds in women’s 100m sprint to win the gold in the Federation Cup National Athletics Championships in New Delhi. She broke the 16 year old national record (11.38 sec) held by Rachita Mistry. She however failed to qualify for Rio Olympics at that point, after tantalizingly missing the cut by one-hundredth of a second. The cut off mark for the qualification was 11.32 seconds.
