Internet Desk: Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin once again showed why he is considered as world’s  one of the best all-rounder’s after he played another crucial knock for the side on the second day of the second Test against Sri Lanka at Colombo today.

The World No.1 side lost both the overnight centurions, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane, in quick time on the morning session of Day 2. It was Ashwin who held the innings again with wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and scored quick runs to keep the scoreboard moving.

He hit his 11th Test half century in style with a huge six, but ace Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath took his wicket immediately after that. It was his tenth fifty plus score in Test cricket while batting at 6 or lower since 2015. Star England all-rounder Ben Stokes (13times) and Wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow (11) are ahead of him which shows Ashwin’s capability to bat at the lower order in the Indian batting line-up.

Ashwin has created another record today after he reached the landmark of 2000 Test runs, which also made him the fastest cricketer to reach 2000 Test runs and 250 Test wickets as he outran the legends like Richard Hadlee, Ian Botham and Imran Khan.
