Debasis Sen & Sabyasachi Bagchi, Kolkata: Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen asking Kapil Dev to give him coaching in a new commercial of a TMT brand. The 30 seconds commercial featuring the two former world cup winning captains was shot today at the iconic Eden Gardens. Both were seen in action at Eden Gardens wearing whites in a never-before occurrence.

The commercial will see Kapil bowling to Dhoni but as the film rolled it was role reversal with the Indian legendary wicketkeeper rolling his arms to the 1983 World Cup winning captain in the ad directed by Arindam Sil. In fact the two times world cup winning captain will be seen requesting the Haryana Hurricane to give him some coaching tips. Towards the end of the commercial both the successful captains will be seen sharing a common slogan for the brand.

An actor turned director; Sil termed it a lifetime experience and said he’s feeling very lucky and blessed to have shot his first TV ad with the two greats of Indian cricket.

“It’s the mecca of cricket and I had two World Cup winning captains shooting for me… It’s the most memorable day in my life,” Sil told reporters at the Eden Gardens.

“They were the best of the captains. I felt nostalgic. I have watched them play from the same galleries here but to shoot with them now at the same venue is a lifetime experience.”

Sil was a worried man even last night as the Haryana Hurricane was not willing to role his arms. But as he took the red cherry in his hand, he was a completely changed man. Initially he did feel the stiffness while bowling at some junior cricketers. But no sooner than later he was bowling in his trademark action which became a famous sight in cricketing world. Dhoni on the other hand was seen playing some helicopter shots as well as practising some short balls. Whether the former India captain will be seen hitting the helicopter shot in the commercial was not disclosed by Sil.

“Kapil said he would get tired to bowl but once he went to his bowling marks he went on and on and bowled numerous deliveries. He also batted and it felt the old Kapil Dev is back.”

Dhoni was seen interacting with a dozen of kids and offered them some invaluable tips of the sport.

According to a kid who took part in the shoot said, “He told us to have a positive attitude and work hard on our game. He also gave us tips about the stance.”

The director was taken aback by Dhoni’s acting skills.

“I didn’t require a retake from Dhoni, he was natural in front of the camera,” said Sil to the scribes.

Towards the later stages of the shoot, former India captain Sourav Ganguly was seen entering the ground. The CAB President was seen having a jovial interaction with Dhoni, Kapil and Sil. The three successful former captains made up for a photographers’ delight in one frame together.
