XtraTime Web Desk – There is a famous commentary line in football stating, “It was late but in the end, it was great”. That is the story of the day for Odisha FC. After a very slow and lackluster of a start, Orissa FC made a strong comeback against Jamshedpur FC.

Jamshedpur was all over Odisha FC from the very beginning of the match. They created a lot of chances in the park and got their first reward in the 11th minute of the match. Jamshedpur was awarded a penalty for a handball and Nerijus Valskis scored his second goal of the season. Jamshedpur didn’t hold back as they kept on playing their attacking football and scored again in the 27th minute. Nerijus Valskis scored again after a defensive failure from Odisha FC. Odisha FC were trying various things but none of them clicked as the first half ended 2-0 in favour of the red miners.

The second half was the story of Odisha’s comeback. Odisha FC missed a chance in the 46th minute itself which proved their intent going forward. Odisha FC then created few more opportunities but TP Rehenesh’s safe hands were stopping Odisha FC. The match completely turned upside down for Jamshedpur when their goalkeeper TP Rehenesh were shown a red card for handling the ball with his hand outside the box.

Rehenesh was a very important player for Jamshedpur as he was looking in fine form. It was going to be very tough for 10-man Jamshedpur. It didn’t took a long time for Odisha to capitalize as Diego Mauricio scored his first goal in the 77th minute, just a minute later TP Rehenesh’s red card incident happened. After few more efforts, Odisha FC again scored in the 94th minute as Diego Mauricio completed his brace. The story could have been ended in an unbelievable note but Mauricio failed to complete his hattrick in the 96th minute of the match. Thus, both the teams shared a point as the match ended 2-2.

Jamshedpur FC currently stands at the 7th position with just 1 point from 2 games while Odisha FC is on 9th with same number of points from same number of games.
