XtraTime Web Desk: Decision Review System (DRS) will be used in this edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) Rajeev Shukla, IPL Chairman confirmed it on Wednesday.
The decision to use DRS came into frey after the meeting held in Visakhapatnam last December where the top ten umpires from the domestic fold were briefed about the technology by Denis Burns, the ICC umpires’ coach and former Australia pacer-turned umpire Paul Reiffel.

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is considered to be first person in Indian cricket who opposed the Decision Review System (DRS) along with the legend Sachin Tendulkar when the parent body of world cricket, ICC recommended all the cricketing boards to use the system for the betterment of cricket but the time has changed a lot after that.

“Yes, this idea has been going around for many years,” said Shukla at a press conference in Mumbai. He also added that the T20 League has inked a three-year deal with Tata Nexon as its partner, declaring there was “great synergy between IPL and Tata Nexon.”
