Xtra Time Web Desk : David Warner was at its best during his 92 runs knock against his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad at Brabourne stadium on Thursday night. The Aussie opener was belting the SRH bowlers across the park. During his 58-ball knock, Warner played some atrocious strokes.

In the 18th over of Delhi Capitals' innings, Warner did something unique, which was beyond anyone's imagination. The first ball Warner faced off Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he made up his mind to switch hit. As Warner switched his stance, Bhuvneshwar noticed it and tried the wide yorker (for the right hander), and David Warner gilded it with an open-faced bat (like a right hander) and the ball went past short-third to the fence.

As far as Warner’s knock is concerned, it was a perfect statement from the Australian against his former franchise. Warner, who led SRH to their only IPL title in 2016, was stripped off captaincy in May before being dropped from the playing XI for the second time this year during the second leg of the IPL. The left hander had to bid farewell to his former franchise.

Notably, Warner has been at the helm of very harsh treatment by the SRH management ever since the team derailed in IPL 2021. Earlier, in the first leg, he was stripped of the captaincy of the franchise and Kane Williamson was named the skipper of the side for the remainder of the IPL 2021 ahead of their 7th game of the tournament this year.

The knock by David Warner may well prove to be a knock out punch as far as Sunrisers chances of making it to the PlayOffs is concerned.
