Kolkata: Mohun Bagan defeated Madhyamgram Pallishree 2-0 in their third practice match of the season. The goals were scored in two halves each. Darryl Duffy scored a goal in the first half while newcomer Simranjit Singh scored the second and final goal in the second half.

Darryl Duffy did not play the whole match as he was replaced in the second half.  He has been scoring goals regularly as this is his second consecutive goal of the three practice ties. Duffy dedicated today’s goal to his teammate birthday boy Haitian Sony Norde which is 27th birthday.

The Green and Maroon brigade were not at their very best but coach Shankarlal Chakraborty said, “My boys are gradually getting into match fitness and as we are a young side it will take time for the boys to get into the grove.”

Mohun Bagan’s second foreigner defender Daniel Seaborne will arrive in the city on Friday and he will only be selected after trials and fitness test. If he plays well in the CFL then only the Bagan officials will extend his contract till the I-league.
