XtraTime Webdesk: Virat Kohli joined the Sachin Tendulkar and became the second player in men’s ODI men’s cricket history to score 15,000 runs. The milestone was achieved by Kohli at the first ODI match at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, India, against the West Indies on Sunday, 27th September 2026.

Virat reached the landmark in his 303rd ODI innings, surpassing Tendulkar, who took 377 innings to reach 15,000 runs in 2007. However, Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer in ODI cricket with 18,426 runs from 463 matches, while Kohli’s milestone moved him well clear of third-placed Kumar Sangakkara, who finished with 14,234 runs.
Kohli's latest achievement would be another feather in his ODI cap and make him part of a statistical club that had just one member Sunday, Tendulkar.
