India Pull Off Incredible 406-Run Chase, Seal ODI Series Against West Indies

India produced an extraordinary batting display to chase down 406 runs and register a record run chase against the West Indies in the second ODI. With the victory, India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series and sealed the series in style.

A staggering 812 runs were scored in a single day, with four centuries and one double century lighting up an unforgettable contest.

India captain Shubman Gill led the charge with a sensational double hundred, while Rohit Sharma also smashed a century. For the West Indies, John Campbell, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo scored hundreds.

Gill reached his double century in just 117 balls, becoming the fastest Indian to score an ODI double hundred and breaking Ishan Kishan's previous record. He also became only the second Indian after Rohit Sharma to score more than one ODI double century.

Rohit, meanwhile, crossed the 12,000-run mark in ODI cricket with his century. He became the fastest batter to reach the milestone, surpassing the previous records of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara.

Chasing a mammoth target, Rohit and Gill gave India a sensational start, putting together 255 runs for the first wicket at an astonishing pace. Rohit scored 101 off 75 balls, while Gill remained the star of the show with a breathtaking 223 off 133 balls. Virat Kohli, however, could manage only 29 before being dismissed.

Earlier, the West Indies posted a huge 405 for seven. Campbell scored 101 off 68 balls, Hope made 104 off 94, while Jangoo smashed 114 off 77 balls. Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja and Gurnoor Brar claimed two wickets each.

India eventually reached 406 for two, winning by eight wickets and completing one of the most remarkable run chases in ODI history.
