Kolkata: The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has sent a letter to the CoA regarding Ravi Shastri’s interference of choosing the support staff of the Indian cricket team. It has been learnt that Ravi Shastri wants Bharat Arun as team’s bowling coach despite the fact that CAC has appointed Zaheer Khan as the bowling consultant of the team.

In the letter to CoA the Cricket Advisory committee comprising of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman said,” We have selected Ravi Shastri as the coach of Indian cricket team by respecting Kohli’s wishes. However the opinions cited by Shastri in selecting his preferred support staff is a direct insult to the CAC. He should keep in mind that mutual respect should be observed from both ends.”

On being asked about the letter, former India skipper and CAB president Sourav Ganguly said,” ‘You have to find out from BCCI,”.

According to reliable sources of the BCCI, Shastri is expected to meet the top officials and the Committee of Administrators (CoA) during the weekend as he is expected to cut short his trip to United Kingdom. If sources are to be believed, Shastri will talk with the CoA regarding the appointment of new support staffs. Furthermore, the members are disgusted after listening to this as they think Shastri is trying to build a lobby inside the team which will be loyal to him. Sources also claimed that the committee is annoyed with the fact they appointed Shastri to respect the choice of Kohli. Then does he have the authority to over-rule the choice of CAC in terms of the support staff?
