Pressure was mounting. Situation was getting out of hand with every passing minute. ATK-MOHUNBAGAN had to take a call at the earliest whether to play or not in AFC cup . Yesterday two of their players SK Sahil an Prabir Das they have now decided not to play in the AFC cup in Maldives.
Officially ATK-MOHUNBAGAN yet to announce their decision. It is learnt that after some of their players and support staff fell ill they had to call an emergency meeting where this decision was taken and it is learnt that they are writing a letter to AFC regarding this matter. As per covid protocol is concerned the whole team should be in quarantine . Even they have seek suggestion from AFC regarding the matter and what their next course of action. Incidentally another Indian team Bengaluru FC has already reached Maldives to play in the AFC cup.
