Coronavirus Pandemic: Sourav Ganguly does something incredible as he visits Belur Math after a long while

Kolkata: The Honourable President of the BCCI Sourav Ganguly sets a perfect example of how to come forward in such a terrible crisis like Coronavirus pandemic as he visits the iconic Belur Math today and handed an initial help of 2000 kgs rice for the underprivileged people in Kolkata.

In a conversation with the media Ganguly said, “I came here long back with my dad. Feeling good to have come here again.” He added, “Here I have given 2000kgs rice so far. Will give more as per requirements. As I have thought, I will give 1.5 lakh Kgs rice in 21 days.”

The Honourable General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Swami Suvirananda said, “Sourav Ganguly mainly came to help our Coronavirus related Relief Function we have been doing. He has given us 2000kgs of rice.” He continued, “We applaud helps from each and everyone. But honestly, Sourav Ganguly is a name which is known in all parts of the globe. No doubt, he coming forward to help us will definitely add a dimension to our purpose.”

Ganguly too said, “It is a contribution entirely from a personal front. I have been doing it since 1996. Right now what I feel is that the resource of food is very important. Every help is important. Everyone is trying to contribute, not just sportspeople, but actors, singers and even the ordinary people. All the help is equally important.”

Ganguly appealed, “Today, for the first time I came out during the lockdown period. I would be requesting everyone to adhere to the guidelines of the State and Central Governments. When they are asking to stay us at home in isolation, there must be some reasons behind it.”
