Kolkata : In a bizarre circumstance Mohun Bagan’s  Trinidadian World Cupper Cornell Glen was not allowed to travel with the team to China to take part in the ACL qualifying Round 2 match against Shandong Luneng . Glen was not allowed by the Immigration Department at Mumbai airport as the relevant  papers mentioned him as a Shillong Lajong ( for whom he played in the I League last season ) footballer . The Bagan officials are trying to get the error corrected from Ljong FC . Glen have already  reached Shillong today morning . But the question is will he be able to clear the issue and fly out to China before the match which is scheduled to be played on 2nd February .

Meanwhile all the other members of Mohun Bagan Football Team departed for China via Cathay Pacific flight (CX660) that will reach Beijing via Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon, from where they will reach Jinan by bus.
Mariners will be playing their AFC Champions League Preliminary Round 2 game against Shandong Luneng, which will be played at the Jinan Olympic Sports Center, Jinan on February 2, 2016. The match will kick-off at 3 p.m. (12:30 p.m. IST).
In the latest format, after an Indian club got the opportunity to participate in the AFC Champions League qualifiers from 2009 onwards, Mohun Bagan became the first Indian club to win a qualifier game of the AFC Champions League. Earlier, Dempo (2009 and 2011), Churchill Brothers (2010), Pune FC (2014) and Bengaluru FC (2015) made exits in the first qualifying round of the AFC Champions League.
On Monday, February 1, 2016, Mariners will be having a 1-hour training session at the main venue from 4 p.m onwards.
Glen’s name featured in the team list released by the club . But it seem his participation in the ACL qualifier is in serious doubt .
