Comparisons with Messi, Ronaldo unfair: Sunil Chhetri

XtraTime Web Desk:  Sunil Chhetri is just two goals away to tough the record of Leoniel Messi. Messi already scored 64 goals while Sunil got 62. India will play against Kenya today in the Final of Hero Intercontinental Cup at Mumbai Football Arena.

About his record, Sunil said, “I don’t take it seriously. It’s not even fair. The two players who are above me are completely world stars. I am a big fan of [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. There is a massive difference between them and us. There is no comparison at all.

I am just happy that I could score 60-plus goals for my country. I just see and look at it for five seconds and forget about it.”

He also sent some messages for the fans ahead of the final. The Indian skipper said, “I just want to say thank you so much. It means a lot when you go to packed stadiums. Also to the ones who are watching on TV, thank you so much from the bottom of the heart. We are going to lose some games but we will try and win more. If you support like that, we are going to go and give our very best.”
