Sushil Kumar wins another gold medal in wrestling for India

XtraTime Web Desk: First day of the wrestling competition bore all type of fruits for the Indian team at the Commonwealth games 2018. Sushil Kumar strike gold for the country in 74Kg men’s freestyle category. Rahul Aware won gold in the men’s freestyle 57kg final. On the other hand, Babita Kumar has won silver in the women’s 53Kg final. India won another medal as Kiran outplayed her Mauritian opponent in 76Kg freestyle event.

 

Rahul Aware defeated Canada’s Steven Takahashi 15-7 though he suffered in the latter part due to injury.

This is the first CWG medal for Aware, 26, who in 2011 won gold at the Commonwealth Championships and an Asian Championships bronze.

Sushil Kumar won gold by beating his Australian Counterpart easily as the Olympic medallist was always a level above his opponent.

With the wrestling event kicking off India has really shined bright. Currently India has 29 medals with 14 Golds , 6 Silvers and 9 Bronze and is placed third overall.
