XtraTime Web Desk: 8th gold medal for India today as boxer Vikas Krisnan won Gold in men’s 75kg at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. It takes the nation’s medal tally to 57 here. Krishnan thumped Cameroon’s Wilfried Seyi Ntsengue 5-0 to give the nation it’s 25th Gold medal at CWG 2018.

India now got 8 medals in boxing in this edition, which includes 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze.

Earlier today, another Indian boxer Gaurav Solanki followed the footsteps of veteran Mary Kom and won gold medal in the men’s 53kg category in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast.

Solanki dominated most of the fight against his opponent Brendan Irvine who is from Northern Ireland and won his bout on a 4:1 verdict. It was a fast paced battle and took some tactical brilliance from the Indian to win the match.

In the second round it was only Solanki’s dominance in the game as he hit many heavy blows on his opponent to put the match in his favour.
